In January 2000, I was invited to give a weekend workshop on global trends in
biotechnology to a small group of Senior executives in Sweden. In that workshop
I met Rusty Schweikert, an Apollo 9 astronaut with a strong interest in the origins
of life in space. He and I collaborated on an idea I had been considering prior to
the workshop, that there may be hidden patterns in our genomic DNA sequences
that do not code for conventional genes, but rather, represent the linguistic
fragments of the DNA of earlier or parallel life forms. This white paper describes in
more detail the concept, whose execution would be very cost-effective and rapid. |
